-OOC? RUSHED, UNBETA-ed

“What’s that?” he called covering his nose.

Ryuu came wearing a mask.

“Inoo-chan.” He said. “He’s making a project it seems.”

“Repeating it, more like.” A masked Yuto appeared. He looked annoyed.

“Ryuu broke the first one.” Yuto explained. “And Inoo-chan really worked hard for that. So now he has to do it all over again.”

“I did not!” Ryuu protested.

“Ryuu, it’s only the three of us here. Inoo-chan fell asleep after making it and then I fell asleep, too. Then the next thing we know it’s already in three pieces.” Yuto said to Ryuu.

“Only you three? Where are the others?” Yabu asked.

“Well, Keito is still at school, Yama-chan, Chii and Hikaru is filming for School Kakumei, and Inoo-chan asked Yuya and Dai-chan to walk Jam and Ann since Inoo-chan said the smell would be bad for them.” Yuto said.

“Maybe it just fell or something!” Ryuu piped, defending himself.

“And then it climbed to the table and return to its original place?” Yuto asked, returning his attention to the younger boy and raising his brows.

“It’s fine, Yuto. Don’t be hard on Ryuu. I’ll just have to do it again, no point blaming Ryuu.” A masked Inoo said holding a plastic cup. The smell got stronger then, it was coming from the cup.

“What is that?” Yabu asked once again, pointing at the cup.

“Resin.” Inoo said simply, “Here,” he said as he handed him a face mask.

“Inoo-chan, I’ll go out for a while, the smell is getting to me.” Yuto said.

“Yeah, sure.” Inoo said.

“I’ll dragged this brat along, too.” He said holding Ryuu’s shoulder.

“Ehh? Why?” Ryuu asked.

“You might break things again.” Yuto said.

“I’m not a little kid, you know.” He groaned but followed Yuto out.

“Okay…” Yabu started, “What’s that again?” he asked Inoo.

“Resin…” he said once more. “Project for Biology… we have to preserve one specimen in resin. It’s basically making a paperweight with a specimen inside.”

Inoo took something from his pocket, “I made this one earlier.” He said as he showed Yabu a three pieces of some sort of a glass with shells inside. “But Ryuu must have dropped it…”

“Wow… Sugoi… You can make glass decors like that from this liquid?” Yabu asked Inoo.

“Mm. It’s quite fast to do it, too. It dries up quickly, you see.” Inoo said as he added a dropped of clear liquid in the resin.

“What was that?” Yabu asked.

“Catalyst. So it would harden when I placed it in my molder.” He explained.

“Ahh…” Yabu nodded. “But Inoo-chan, you’re an architecture student right? Why do you have a biology course?” Yabu asked.

“Natural science is a requirement for all students.” He said as he add a dropped of purple liquid this time.
“What was that, now?” Yabu asked again.

“Liquid cobalt… it’s some sort of a glue so the shell would fix with the resin.” He explained.

Yabu nodded once more, watching Inoo work. “Must be tough being a university student… is that an individual project?”

“Nah. It’s a group project but I haven’t really helped my friends in our other projects so I offered to make this one myself. It’s fairly simple. Just the smell… and the resin is sticky when it’s still liquid.”

Yabu smiled. “That’s just like you. Want some help?” he offered.

Inoo beamed at him. “Sure.”

Yabu once again looked at Inoo’s first work. “You used shell as a specimen…” he commented.

“Yeah, I can’t really kill live specimen you know…”

“True.” Yabu said as he touched the broken glass-like paperweight.

“Ne, Inoo-chan…” he called.

“Nani?” Inoo asked while measuring his mixture.

“Why don’t you just glue these together with the cobalt?” he asked.

Inoo went silent.

Yabu looked at him, “It wouldn’t help?” he asked.

“Why didn’t I think of that?” Inoo laughed.

Yabu laughed, too. “Baka…”

“Now what am I going to do with this resin? I’ve already added the catalysts… It would be such a waste.” He marveled aloud, chuckling at his silliness.

“Well, let’s fix this one first.” Yabu suggested as he took the broken pieces.

The both of them placed the broken pieces in Inoo’s molder and added a mixture of the resin. They decided it would be better if they would just cover the cracks than just gluing them together. Then the two placed the molder by the window.

“Okay… what to do with these?” Yabu wondered. There were still many of the mixture left.

“Hmmm…” Inoo murmured, thinking of what to do.

“Ne, Yabu-kun, do you wanna make JUMP paperweights?” he asked.

“That’s a great idea. We’ll use pictures?”

“Yeah, I have some laminated here.” Inoo said as he took out his wallet.

“Woah… You have so many pictures.”

Inoo smiled.

“Here,” he said as he placed the pictures on the table. “We can make a JUMP, BEST, and Seven…”

Yabu took one of the photos laid. “Hey, this is from Ya-ya-yah…” he said as he looked at their younger faces. The whole cast were there, Shoon, Taiyou, Ma-chan, Moriuchi, Midorinu, Kusano, NEWS…

“Brings back memories.”

Inoo peaked, too. “It’s from the last episode.”

“Let’s make this into a paperweight, too.” Yabu suggested.

“Sure.”

The two of them prepared four molders for the four pictures. They used a star-shaped molder for JUMP, a molder shaped like number ‘7’ for Seven, pentagon molder for BEST and egg shape molder for Ya-Ya-Yah.
They poured the resin in each and submerged each picture. After doing so, they placed them by the window beside Inoo’s project.

The both of them came back to the room to clean up.

“Hey, Yabu-kun, there’s still some resin left.” Inoo said. “I think it’s enough for one more paperweight.”

“Do we still have pictures?” Yabu said moving beside Inoo.

Inoo took his wallet again and took out some his photos.

He laid them down and both looked at them.

Yabu at once picked one picture. “Let’s use this one.” He said pointing at the picture of him and Inoo when they were younger.

“Yeah.” Inoo smiled.

“But let’s include this one, too.” Yabu said as he took out his own wallet and detach a photo.

It was a picture of him and Inoo, too, but it was a recent photo.

They smiled at each other and started to work.

“It’s only this round molder left.” Inoo said.

“That’s fine.” Yabu said as he took the remaining mixture and poured it in the molder. Inoo, then submerged their old picture and Yabu followed on submerging their more recent one.

After that they placed the molder by the window again.

They cleaned up. The work was easy since there was the two of them. And then all that was needed to do was to wait for the paperweights to harden.

“I missed those times…” Yabu said.

Inoo understood. “Me too.”

“I miss Shoon, and Taiyou, and Kusano, and everyone… It’s a shame Ya-ya-yah has to end…”

The both of them went silent as if lost in their thoughts.

Yabu smiled, “But I’m glad I got to be part of Hey! Say! JUMP.”

“Mm. I wouldn’t trade this for anything.” Inoo agreed.

“But it would be great if we could do a show like Ya-ya-yah again.” Yabu said.

“That would be wonderful and it would be entitled JUMP this time.”

Inoo then chuckled. “Imagine if we do another Onigokko. Seven would be the participants and BEST would be the oni’s. That would be fun.”

Yabu laughed.

“The tickle game! I’d like to see Seven tickled!” he said

Inoo laughed harder. “I can already imagine it!”

“It would be great if we could do the show with NEWS and KAT-TUN, too. I miss those guys. All of us are so busy these days.” Yabu said.

“What if we do an Onigokko and the whole JUMP participates! And then the Oni’s turned out to be KAT-TUN, NEWS, Shoon, Taiyou, Kusano, Ma-chan, Asaka, and Minna!” Inoo said.

“That would be great.” Yabu said softly, smiling a little. “I wish that could happen…”

Inoo patted him on the back. “JUMP can do it; even if it’s not broadcasted in TV. We can play once we have our free time. It doesn’t have to be exactly the same as the real onigokko…”

Yabu looked at him. “I’m glad I wasn’t separated with you and Hikaru.” He said seriously.

Inoo smiled. “Well, it seems we always cross each other, ne? We took auditions at the same day… We became juniors together… you became the leader of Yayayah, and I the leader of JJ Express… we ended up doing the same show… and now we’re both JUMPs.”

“That’s something I’m thankful about.” Yabu said.

Inoo’s alarm clock went off.

“It’s time.” He said. “Let’s check the paperweights.

Both of them got the molders and went back to the table.

Inoo cautiously remove his project from the molder.

“It looks brand new.” Inoo commented on his project. “No sign of the cracks.”

“Yokatta, ne?”

“Mm.”

One by one they remove the paperweight from the molder.

“This one turned out great.” Yabu said indicating the JUMP paperweight.

“This, too.” Inoo said, indicating the Seven paperweight.

Yabu laughed at the BEST paperweight. “Look, Inoo-chan, a bubble formed, it magnified Dai-chan’s mouth.” They both laughed at that.

They took out the Ya-ya-yah one.

“It’s perfect.” Inoo said.

“Ah.” Yabu agreed.

They then took the last paperweight and carefully separated it from the molder.

“Ehh?” Inoo gasp. “Yabu-kun, it has air cracks… The resin must have harden already when we poured it in the molder.” He said, frowning a little.

Yabu looked at it.

“It still looks fine.” He said.

“Well, yeah…” Inoo allowed, looking more closely at the paperweight. “The lines became like a design. They formed crisscross.”

“Crisscross huh…” Yabu smiled at that. “It fits us.”

“In general, those are just lines. It’s nothing. But behind all those lines, there’s a meaning. Crisscross can be a symbol.” –Ate Jess

AN:
-I just meant crisscross can be a symbol of 'fate' cause you're crossing each other... every encounter, every time you crossed each other is an important event since it makes up the crisscross... it makes up your fate...
-sorry for being such a nerd and including my project here.. feel free to asked me anything you don't understand about resin...
-btw, this is a sample of paperweight:
